Dirt Showdown Review

Dirt Showdown was released in May 2012 by Codemasters.

It is a racing, smash-em up game with endless action. The game consists of a series of races, destruction derbies and a mixture of circuits and tracks with obstacles such as blocks to smash and donuts, power slides and jumps. The game is a bit old now but it still works on Windows 10 (although I have had a few crashes).

I used a Xbox controller for this game and the controls were normal for a game of this type. The graphics were good and I liked the sound of the music as you race. The game didn't take many hours to finish but it was fun during the whole process. The car selection was a bit limited as there were not many well known brands, they were mostly custom games the game creator designed. There was a lot happening on the screen at one time during races. The destruction derbies are the most fun as you get to hit other cars and you have limited health and boost available and you have to hit the cars as hard as you can for the most points.

The game was not hard to complete. If you concentrate you can win most of the races. The final event is not hard to win either, after that the game credits appear.

The game has good mixture of events to keep you interested and has good entertainment value.
