Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne

This game is a sequel to the original Max Payne.  It was released by Remedy Entertainment and Rockstar Games in October 2003. Just like Max Payne it is a third-person shooter. You assume the role of Max Payne, a DEA agent for the NYPD. After the events of the previous game he has been reinstated back to the NYPD. The game continues the story two years after the events of the first game. Max Reunites with Mona Sax (assumed dead after the first game). They work together to find the hitmen called the cleaners who want them dead. The story also contains some other characters from the first game as well.
Most of the game mechanics and graphics are the same as the previous Max Payne game. The way they tell the story is the same comic book style. The story is mostly new with little ties to the story of the first game. It’s partly a love story as well between Max and Mona Sax.
I found the story to be good. I found it was a bit short in length. I played this game a long time after playing the first. This was because I never knew this game existed as the sales were very poor. It has problems running on windows 10 and sometimes the max character will run forward continuously with no way to stop. If you save the game when this happens he will continue to run when the game loads. With the exception of these minor flaws it is a pretty good game. It even won some awards when it was released. Its fast paced action and bullet time make it enjoyable to play. A bit outdated but worth playing if you liked the first Max Payne. My review of Max Payne can be found here: Max Payne Review
The game is rated M.
